:king corn:
tonight, i finally watched the documentary King Corn.
honestly, i am in a sort of daze. i’ve read and researched a decent amount about the food issues that loom so large over the american people (and landscape), but every time i hear raw statistics, or actual footage of the way things are, i get scared. i suppose it is similar to the feelings i felt when i watched that video that i posted the other day.
there is a sense of disbelief which is difficult to explain. part of it is my own ignorance, but a greater part of it is how blind we are as a nation to this crippling, and catastrophic agriculture and substance industry (i say substance because it is difficult to really call the majority of things on grocery store shelves “food”).
there is so much i could say; so much i want to say. i really don’t have the education or clarity to say it well. so, i will pass you off to those that have done the research. please watch King Corn. Please read some of Michael Pollan’s work. and finally, please read the ingredients in EVERYTHING.
you are what you eat.
